What Does It Mean to Be An Adult Christian Woman? By Brightweather
An adult Christian woman is responsible for her own actions. She begins to plan how to contribute financially to her household, as well as considering future education, career, and relationships. She seeks wise advice, and is learning to discern dangerous people and situations. She can make adult decisions, after considering her own needs as well as the needs of others. As an adult, she continues to learn, and may be preparing for leadership positions, as she gains experience and wisdom in her personal life. Everyone has personal challenges.
I have panhypopituitarism and low vision. I also have muscle weakness. I take pills three times every day. My good friend and music teacher, Jan Jones, who also had panhypopituitarism and passed away a few years ago, wrote the following:
“In the years since I learned to put my trust in God because I know that he loves me and will never leave me. He has promised to help me in every situation and change me to be more like Him. Do you have a friend like that? One that loves you so much that he would die for you? I urge you to seriously consider what Jesus has done for you, and receive Him as your Lord, and Savior, making the most important decision of your life. “
Abeka's Health in Christian Perspective notes that “ For the Christian, one of the benefits of having a sound mind is the ability to make decisions from a biblical perspective (particularly the ability to judge between right and wrong). Biblical discernment requires that we have the mind of Christ (Phil 2:5) evaluating our choices in the light of God's Word and seeking to think and act as Christ would in our place.”
Therefore, Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path." The word is the Bible. This quote reminds me that God is a guide to all areas of my life. The light on my path guides me on my life journey, as God teaches me wisdom.
The Latin quote, Vitae discimus, tells me that we do not learn for school, but for life. For example, as I explore careers and God's plan for my life, I've found that reading, writing and research skills are essential. As I plan my future, I am mindful that adult Christians should be responsible for their actions both legally and in the eyes of God.
Jesus said, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"Luke 10:27., https://biblehub.com/luke/10-27.htm. This tells me that I have to obey God's commands, based on love.
Charles Spurgeon, in The Golden Alphabet, wrote:
"We walk through this world and are often called to go out into its darkness. Let us never venture there without the light-giving Word, so that our feet will not slip. Everyone should use the Word of God personally, practically, and habitually, so he can see his way and what lies in it. When darkness settles all around me, the Word of the Lord reveals my way like a flaming torch.” Therefore,Vicki Courtney, in her book Cherish suggests:
“Think of God’s Word, Godly people, and God’s Spirit as three legs on a stool. If all three legs of a stool are strong and in place, the stool is safe for you to sit on on it. However if one of the legs is missing, you certainly don’t want to sit on it. You’ll find yourself on the floor in a nanosecond. In much the same way, if God’s Word, Godly people, and God’s Spirit all point to the same answer, you can pretty much trust your decision. However, if the three conflict with each other, there’s a problem. God’s Word will never conflict with His Spirit and His people won’t contradict his word.”
Now that I am an adult and graduating from high school, I realized that I should follow God’s will . It will help your life.
